Production

Copy-editing

The copy editor will ensure that your writing is clear, concise and written in a style and tone consistent with the subject matter. The text will be discussed with the author when the meaning is unclear and suggestions for improvement will be made. The end result will be fluent, polished and effective English. Depending on how comfortable you are with written English, we will recommend one of several levels of copy-editing.

Proofreading

Your manuscript will be checked for accuracy in spelling, punctuation, grammar, misused words, mixed tenses and inconsistencies. Footnotes and endnotes will be verified against the copy. Your proofreader will make certain that the table of contents and titles of chapters and sections match those in the text. We will ensure that all illustrations are accounted for and given the correct positions and captions.

Cover design

A member of our in-house graphic designer team works directly with the author and editor of the book.

Layout

The designer, working closely with the author and editor, will lay out all text and illustrations (figures, maps, plates, diagrams, etc.).

Page proofs

A set of page proofs will be sent to the author for correction. The proofs, on request, will also be sent out for peer endorsement and for review in journals and periodicals.

ISBN

An ISBN number is assigned to all our books.

Printing

A choice of either digital or offset printing will be offered, depending on the project and the size of the print run. Illustrations can be printed in full colour or black and white.

Distribution

  • Our distributors are based in the UK and the USA.
  • Our UK distributor, Central Books, London, is responsible for European distribution.
  • Our US distributor is responsible for the rest of the English-speaking world: USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc.
  • Within Italy, Pari Publishing is responsible for direct distribution.
  • Our distributors have sales representatives who market to bookstores, libraries, colleges and universities.
  • Our books are listed on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk, and all online bookstores.
  • Books are also available directly from the Pari Publishing website.
  • Our catalogue is distributed internationally and we have a frequently visited website.

Marketing

  • All books are included in the Pari Publishing catalogue, which is distributed worldwide.
  • We send promotional materials to bookstores, libraries, universities and colleges.
  • We send out review copies internationally to trade journals, newspapers, periodicals and academic journals and have been successful in having reviews published in such places as The Guardian, the Financial Times, Journal of the Scientific and Medical Network, Focus, Geographical, Resurgence, etc.
  • We prepare and send out press releases to accompany promotional copies.
  • We have been successful in obtaining cover endorsements from internationally known writers, experts and academics.
  • All our authors have the possibility of running their own blog on the Pari Publishing website where they can enter into direct discussion with the readers of their books.
  • We can create for the author and book a website, blog, page on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
  • We send out a regular electronic newsletter and announcements about upcoming books and events to our extensive mailing list.
  • We are represented at and personally attend the annual London Book Fair. It is our intention to have a presence at other international book fairs—Frankfurt, Torino, etc.
  • We are constantly updating our international list of bookstore chains, independent bookstores, universities and colleges, professors, researchers, associations and all places where our books will be well received.
  • We promote our books on websites that list, review and discuss books.

Additional promotional tools

Additional services such as creating promotional materials specific to the individual book e.g. flyers, bookmarks, etc., can be provided at extra cost. We can make you short videos for YouTube.com about your book with images, music and interviews.
